wow, another huge surprise for me : ) i landed on pei yesterday after 37 hours of travel from sydney… and right when i landed they were announcing the east coast music award nominations. i’m pleased to announce that i’m nominated for:

song of the year “beat this heart”

roots/traditional solo recording of the year

entertainer of the year

video of the year “beat this heart”

… a few of them are public ballot so i’ll be posting fairly soon about how you can cast a vote. that’s it for now! time to get over this jet lag before i head down to new york : )

so i found out not too long ago that i’ve been nominated for 7 music pei awards! pretty crazy. i’ll also be getting home just in time for all the madness too : ) if you’re on pei, make sure you take in some of the music that’s going on (music pei week runs from jan. 25 – feb 2).

wow. what an unbelievable festival that was. i don’t even know how to describe the last 5 days in woodfordia but for all who told me it would blow my mind, they were very right. the heat was definitely vibrant at 6am in my tent but i quickly got over that once i stepped outside into the sea of people roaming around just pumped to hear great music.

i just wanted to send a huge thank you out to all the organizers (especially chloe for having us over), volunteers and all the other musicians for a week i’ll never forget.

before i left for australia, koady and i sat down for a ‘live in bellwoods’ session in toronto. it was a cold day but the footage turned out really great. props to kyle and mike. we also did a cover of ‘all hell for a basement’, i’ll post that on here soon : )

whatcha doing tomorrow? well, if you’re kicking around the interweb which you could possibly be, i’m doing a live concert from yowie bay, australia! gonna sing a few christmas carols and couple of songs. all the info is below : ) hope you can catch it!

so i’m here! a long ol’ trek but i’m here… i have also never came that close to missing a flight in my entire life. when we touched down in los angeles, i was already pushing it to catch my connecting flight to begin with… to make matters worse, my fiddle was at the very back of the plane because it wouldn’t fit in the overhead bin – so i was the last one off! then when i got off the plane, my connecting flight was with united, which is on the other side of the airport. a lady even told me that i was going to miss it but i sprinted for a good 10 minutes to hopefully prove her wrong. i arrived at the gate drenched in sweat and pretty much begged them to let me on… and they did! thank god.
on another note, don’t leave any fruit in your bag! i left an orange in my kit bag by accident and before i knew it there were dogs sniffing everything i had. slightly terrifying but as expected they just found one orange and nothing else ; )
anywho, for all the aussies – check out my tour dates, would love to see some familiar faces!
